Wegweisende Retro-Klänge aus New York

Der New Yorker DJ & Produzent Andrew Butler trommelte u.a. Freunde und Musiker-Kollegen wie Nomi, Antony Hegarty (Antony & The Johnsons) und Kim Ann Foxman zusammen um diese großartige Disco-Pop Scheibe einzuspielen. Das Album ist voll gepackt mit verspielten Dancefloortracks, die kaum wie eine andere Platte so leichtfertig Elemente aus den Genres Disco, Pop, House, 90s Dancefloor und Italo-House vereint. Old-School Drumcomputer, Disco-Strings und klimpernde Percussion-Parts kommen ebenso zum Einsatz wie die perfekt eingesetzten Trumpets. Inner-City’s „Good Life“ trifft auf Donna Summers „I Feel Love“ und das abwechselnd mit den Gesangsparts von Antony, Nomi, und Kim Ann Foxman. Leise aber sicher haben Hercules And Love Affair mit diesem Album neue Maßstäbe in der Dancescene gesetzt. Bleibt zu hoffen, dass uns dieses außergewöhnliche Musikprojekt noch viele weitere Platten bescheren wird.
